Welcome to the 'Women in the Outdoors' page. I had a great time this past weekend, and hope you have fun 'watching your wine progress. This posting is Monday Morning, and all three wines have started to ferment already! Actually, session 3, as we guessed, yours already blew through the airlock! I hope to have pictures on tonight for everyone. I will be out of town until Thursday, and will post an update then. Again, thanks and have fun! I am having some vista / xp file sharing issues, so some of this is taking a little more time to get to you. Here are the 3 different recipes. Session # A Saturday Morning ....... 2 lbs. 10 oz. Honey, 1 lb 1oz Crushed Blackberries, 2 tsp Yeast Nutrient, 1 tsp Pectic Enzyme, 1/4 tsp dry tannin, 1 Campden tablet crushed, Cotes des Blanc yeast. Starting Specific Gravity 1.100 Session # B Saturday Afternoon ....... 3 lbs. Honey, Juice only from 3 cups of crushed blackberries, 2 tsp Yeast Nutrient, 1/3 tsp Pectic Enzyme, 1/4 tsp dry tannin, 1 Campden tablet crushed, EC-1118 yeast. Starting Specific Gravity 1.106 Session # C Sunday Morning ....... 4 lbs. 2 oz. Honey, juice only from 2 cups of Crushed Blackberries, 2 tsp Yeast Nutrient, 1/4 tsp Pectic Enzyme, 1/4 tsp dry tannin, 1 Campden tablet crushed, D-47 yeast. Starting Specific Gravity 1.140 VIDEO I'm sorry, it takes a few minutes to download. August 21 - Well, I got back from Chicago, and what a difference a few days makes! The Session 3 wine is still going strong, although not as strong as Monday. Session two is now cooking pretty good, and has awesome color! Session 1 may actually be done fermenting, I will check it tomorrow, and we'll find out. We hope you are having fun following along. August 28 - Going to rack the wine today. Here is a picture of how they looked before I rack them. I will post the Gravity readings after I transfer. Have fun!
